Life In Maine and Other Stuff Turkey tracks have started showing up in the snow. Haven't seen the birds yet, just their tracks. I also found bear tracks in the back yard - undoubtedly attracted to the bird seed. I've written often about the bird feeders we have by our back windows. In the past, they have been about 50 yards away from the house in the woods. With the feeders in the window, you can see the birds changing color as spring comes. The finches are starting to turn yellow and purple. I just realize that I've bought more than 350 pounds of bird food since October. Our town recently decided to put up a wind turbine to generate electricity. The tower sits on a hill near Main Street. Every time I have driven by it, the blades are not turning. A newspaper report the other day said that it has generated less than 20% of the electricity predicted. A fine analogy for most government programs - great fan-fare (pun intended), little output. In addition to my "almost-daily" blog at www.InsuranceBuzzer.com, I have started blogging for the Portland Press Herald on insurance topics. Sometimes I use the same info, sometimes I put in additional insurance info - www.mainebusiness.mainetoday.com. I also have a business topic blog. Take a look at www.YourBusinessMadeBetter.com. Last item, over the past few months I have been giving speeches to service clubs on the business ideas of Peter Drucker. It's a break from my usual insurance topics too. Let me know if you're interested in having me speak to your group or association.
